(PR PRO) When people post on social media

Standard

Yes, there is a science behind social media! Thanks to Kristin Piombino at Ragan PR for this great article and infographic: When do people share on social media?

This is fascinating! I’m taking a PR class right now and we’ve been talking about the effectiveness of social media. As important as it is to brand yourself and be creative, there is an actual science behind posting updates, which I think many people can dismiss. Many times, people don’t understand why their posts go unread (and it’s not all in fact due to the timing), but it does help to be up to date with your information and give it to people at the right place and time. Thanks for the info!

Thanks for the great post! I love all things Kardashian and it’s definitely interesting to see how creative they are in branding themselves. The way we communicate with those around us is crucial, and understanding who we are is even more important. They definitely know who they are and that reflects in everything they do!
This is great information for any business as well. Constantly coming up with new ideas and being a part of any conversation is the key to survival.

Special thanks to: Millenial Mafia for this awesome post! They’re great with blogging about social media…go check them out!

This is so funny! I love how his publicist mentioned he was meditating; really trying to up the positive spin on this guy, but the crazy thing is, PR lets you use something like this for either the positive or the negative. Hopefully he can get another interview and maybe get a chance to explain what happened, but he might have just ruined his only chance to spread the word about his book via the news. Personally, I think you should be ready for anything with a live interview like this one!

Great post! As much as everything is connected these days, I think sometimes we forget that news (good or bad) can travel at lightning fast speed! This is a great example of how touchy social media can be and that anything you say or do is subject to millions of different interpretations.

Naida, this is so true! Dealing with a difficult conversation is such a touch and go issue, especially the more involved you are with different organizations. When you have an issue you have to deal with, sometimes too you don’t want to ruin a friendship, but other times you really just need to tackle what’s at hand. There are definitely different ways to handle situations and ways to operate successfully and reach a common goal.

I love this post! I definitely think PR is in some aspect a cutting edge way to communicate with others and keep others updated with what’s happening around us, and the fact that there were people who constantly pushed the envelope is what has brought us to be such a great nation today. So much of what they have done has also affected the way we think about certain issues, like our freedom, and it awesome that you have that same heart to use PR in a way that sets precedent!
